Real Madrid's main objective this summer involves acquiring a central defender, however Como's manager Cesc Fàbregas states that former Castilla talent Jacobo Ramón is unavailable for transfer.
Ramón is experiencing a standout season with the Serie A club, establishing himself as a key player in Fàbregas's starting lineup as Como fights to earn Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign. The 21-year-old defender had previously spent his entire professional journey at Real Madrid, where he managed just six first-team appearances before relocating to Italy last summer.
His outstanding performances in 2025–26 have drawn Los Blancos' interest as they search for defensive additions, particularly given that Ramón's $2.9 million (€2.5 million) contract includes a buyback provision. However, Fàbregas dismissed any possibility of the defender's departure.
"Jacobo Ramón's statistics don't catch me off guard. He was ideal for our playing philosophy. Our only concern was whether he could handle Italian football, how he would adjust to such an intense competition. He has developed significantly and his ball-handling skills don't surprise me," the Spanish manager explained.
"Will he remain next season? Absolutely," Fàbregas stated decisively.

Los Blancos were inevitably going to pursue another central defender following the 2025–26 campaign. Experienced players Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba are approaching the end of their contracts and will probably depart the club as free agents this summer.
Real Madrid possessed numerous alternatives to address the gaps in their roster, but their inaction during the January transfer period resulted in their targets being acquired by other clubs. Marc Guéhi joined Manchester City, Jérémy Jacquet moved to Liverpool, and Dayot Upamecano renewed his Bayern Munich deal through 2030.
Liverpool's central defender Ibrahima Konaté remains a theoretical possibility, but Los Blancos allegedly dismissed him following his poor season opening. Interest might resurface for the French player, who will become a free agent this summer, though Real Madrid currently have Borussia Dortmund's Nico Schlotterbeck as their primary target.
Sources suggest the 26-year-old has until the March international window to determine if he wishes to transfer to the Bernabéu. If he rejects the move, Real Madrid might be forced to reacquire Ramón.

Despite Fàbregas's confident statement, Real Madrid could still exercise the buyback option for Ramón if they choose to return him to the Spanish capital this summer—a strategy they reportedly plan to implement for Nico Paz.
The midfielder, who developed through La Fábrica's youth system, departed the Bernabéu before the 2024–25 season to join Como, seeking regular playing time and developmental opportunities. Paz quickly emerged as one of Serie A's promising talents, consistently making headlines for his creativity and technical prowess.
At merely 21 years old, the Argentine has performed impressively enough to warrant a return to Real Madrid, according to various sources. The 15-time European champions are keen to trigger Paz's $10.4 million (€9 million) buyback clause at season's end to strengthen their struggling midfield.
Losing Paz would severely impact Fàbregas's vision at Como. The gifted youngster has recorded 10 goals and six assists across 30 matches this season and remains instrumental in the club's fifth-place Serie A position and Coppa Italia aspirations.
