The upcoming campaign looks set to be a transformative one for Real Madrid. And with change comes opportunity.
Following Florentino Pérez's re-election, José Mourinho has been named as the club's new head coach, with the squad already beginning to take shape ahead of the 2026–27 season.
Mourinho and Madrid have prioritized bringing in proven talent and reinforcing depth to a side that has significantly underdelivered over the past two campaigns, with Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté and Denzel Dumfries becoming the first four arrivals.
Further signings are anticipated as the roster is refined over the coming weeks, but with a fresh season—and a new chapter for the club—comes the possibility for emerging talents to push their way into the manager's plans and make a name for themselves.
Here are six Real Madrid youngsters who could be poised for breakout campaigns.
Diego Aguado
It has already been quite the year for 19-year-old Aguado. The defender netted the decisive penalty in Real Madrid U-19's UEFA Youth League victory back in April before starring in Spain's UEFA European Under-19 Championship triumph this summer.
Described by MARCA as "the best of his generation", Aguado is capable of playing at left back or in a central role and could serve as a valuable depth option for Mourinho this season—provided he isn't sent out on loan.
Left-footed, exceptionally quick and composed in possession, the La Fábrica graduate made his senior debut in January 2025 during a Copa del Rey victory over Minera.
Jesús Fortea
Another 19-year-old full back, Fortea also impressed at this summer's U-19 Euros and is widely tipped for a bright future, having made the move to Real Madrid from Atlético back in 2022.
Before Dumfries's arrival, there had been suggestions that Madrid might not need to sign a new right-sided defender at all and should instead place their faith in the teenage academy product.
While earning minutes ahead of Alexander-Arnold and Dumfries will be a tall order, neither of the two more seasoned options is particularly defensively oriented, meaning Fortea could prove a handy third choice for Mourinho across the season.
Thiago Pitarch
Integrated into the first team during the closing stages of the 2025–26 season under Álvaro Arbeloa, Pitarch held his own despite the challenging circumstances.
The outgoing manager was a vocal advocate for the combative young midfielder during his short spell in charge, with Pitarch becoming the youngest player in Madrid's history to start twice in the Champions League knockout rounds.
Should Pérez and the club's leadership fail to secure a new deep-lying midfielder, expect Pitarch—another standout from Spain's U-19 Euros triumph—to receive increased playing time next season. His energy and technical ability make him a genuinely exciting prospect.
Daniel Yáñez
Back in March, Yáñez registered his first senior assist when he set up Dean Huijsen in a 4–1 La Liga win against Elche, and great things are anticipated from the youngster MARCA dubbed a "Tasmanian devil".
The dynamic winger's situation echoes that of Nico Paz—he's too gifted to overlook, yet still difficult to accommodate in the first-team setup.
A loan move or partial sale could be on the horizon for the 19-year-old, though with Rodrygo sidelined for the foreseeable future, Yáñez may have a genuine opportunity to impress during preseason and force his way into Mourinho's plans.
Endrick
Far from an unknown quantity, but Real Madrid supporters will be hoping that 2026–27 is the season Endrick finally leaves his mark on the first team.
The Brazilian, still just 20, struggled to make a meaningful impression under Carlo Ancelotti and was subsequently sidelined by Xabi Alonso before being shipped out on loan to Lyon.
He then flourished with a goal-contribution-laden half-season in France, even earning a place in Brazil's World Cup squad. Having demonstrated his ability to operate from the right wing in Ligue 1, there may be a clearer route into the starting lineup this time around.
Jacobo Ortega
There has been speculation that Mourinho would like a physical, 'plan B' striker to serve as backup to Kylian Mbappé next season, though it may not be the most pressing area of focus in the transfer market. Step forward: Jacobo Ortega.

The homegrown 20-year-old stands well over six feet tall and is a thoroughly traditional center forward—capable of holding up play with his back to goal and dominant in aerial duels at youth level.
With fellow young striker Gonzalo García's future still up in the air, there could be an opening for Ortega to stake his claim as the kind of hard-working target man Mourinho has always admired.
