Snoop Dogg Stars in Playful Kit Launch That Roasts Wrexham FC

Swansea City brought in Snoop Dogg to outshine their newly promoted Welsh competitors Wrexham, featuring the legendary American hip-hop artist in the Swans' jersey unveiling for the 2025–26 campaign.

The celebrity-backed Wrexham will join Swansea in the Championship next season following their direct promotion from League One. These two clubs are preparing for their first encounters since 2003 in the upcoming term, and they've already begun setting up those clashes with some star-studded social media exchanges.

Previously, Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds shared an Instagram photo wearing Wrexham's fresh home jersey for their inaugural second-tier season since 1981–82. A four-legged friend appeared beside him, with Reynolds concluding his post: "Dog not included."

As a comeback, Swansea managed to involve the Snoop Dogg in their new home kit launch. Their X message, featuring an image of the 53-year-old sporting Swansea's stylish white uniform, begins with: "Dogg included."

The Swans, who enjoyed seven seasons in the Premier League from 2011 to 2018, subsequently declared themselves the "Pride of Wales" in another pointed jab at Wrexham.

Those who might have suspected artificial intelligence created the Snoop image received additional proof of the authentic partnership. The hip-hop star also appears in a short marketing clip where he declares: "Coming to a hood near you."

This has led some to wonder whether Snoop, an avid soccer enthusiast, might join the collection of prominent American celebrities investing in British football. Reynolds and Rob McElhenney blazed the trail at Wrexham with extraordinary achievements, while former NFL legends Tom Brady and J.J. Watt hold ownership stakes in Birmingham City and Burnley, respectively.

The artist has previously been connected to potential investment in Scottish powerhouse Celtic, and his recent collaboration with Swansea suggests possible future participation. The Swans' American ownership group, headed by Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen, aims to expand the club's global reach, and superstar midfielder Luka Modrić became an investor and co-owner in April.

Might Snoop be the next celebrity to join?
