Soccer Legend Makes Major Investment Move, Joins LAFC Ownership Group

Los Angeles FC has revealed that former defender and football icon Giorgio Chiellini has become part of the club's ownership collective.
Following an 18-year stint at Juventus, during which he secured nine Serie A championships and reached two Champions League finals, Chiellini witnessed firsthand the drive and determination present at LAFC.
The European Championship victor relocated to California during summer 2022, instantly contributing to LAFC's capture of both the Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup—an exceptional achievement accomplished only eight times throughout the league's existence.
Chiellini hung up his boots after reaching another MLS Cup final in 2023, yet remained in Los Angeles to work as a Player Development Coach throughout the 2024 campaign. During this period, the 40-year-old veteran made known his desire to acquire ownership stake in the organization he had grown to cherish.
"Becoming part of the LAFC ownership collective represents a tremendous privilege for me," Chiellini stated in an official club announcement.
"Upon my arrival three years ago as a competitor, I instantly recognized something extraordinary about this organization. This is a driven institution, established by remarkable individuals and backed by a fanbase that genuinely creates a sense of belonging.
"For this reason, I voiced my intention to become an owner last year, and today I'm honored to extend this partnership and contribute my backing to an initiative I wholeheartedly support."
Bennett Rosenthal, LAFC's Lead Managing Owner, expressed enthusiasm on the club's behalf.
"We are grateful for the chance to have Giorgio extend his connection with LAFC as part of our ownership collective," he stated.
"Giorgio has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and integrity in all his endeavors, and his principles perfectly match the future aspirations we hold for LAFC. We appreciate having Giorgio as both our colleague and now business partner."
