Soccer Power Couple Dansby and Mallory Swanson Welcome Their First Baby in Heartwarming Instagram Reveal
Chicago's premier sports family has welcomed a new addition.
Cubs infielder Dansby Swanson and Chicago Stars striker Mallory Swanson have celebrated the arrival of their first child, sharing the news through an Instagram announcement Friday night.
"Josie James Swanson," the couple posted together on Instagram, featuring a monochrome image of the family's joined hands. "We love you more than you'll ever know babygirl."
The pair began dating in 2017 after being introduced by her brother-in-law—former Braves utility player Jace Peterson. Following their 2022 wedding, both athletes found their way to the Windy City—Dansby joined the Cubs in December 2022, while Mallory had been traded to the then-Red Stars the previous year.
Mallory, who has netted 23 goals across four campaigns with the Stars, sat out the 2025 NWSL season expecting their child. Dansby posted a .244/.300/.417 line with 24 homers and 77 RBIs, helping the Cubs reach the postseason.
Simply put: Young Josie enters the world with considerable athletic pedigree should she choose to follow in her parents' footsteps in Chicago sports.
