Spain President Breaks Silence on Explosive El Clasico Clash Between Carvajal and Rising Star Yamal
Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal engaged in a tense confrontation during the latest El Clásico, though Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán doesn't expect the incident to have lasting effects.
Carvajal was seen making gestures and reportedly telling Yamal that he "spoke too much" following Real Madrid's victory over Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu. The young star responded, and their exchange triggered a heated altercation at the conclusion of what was one of the most passionate El Clásicos in recent years.
Having two crucial players from Luis de la Fuente's Spain squad apparently in conflict is certainly not optimal for La Roja. Nevertheless, Louzán expressed confidence to El Partidazo de COPE that he doesn't foresee the situation worsening or impacting Spain's team environment.
"I dislike conflicts, I prefer harmony," Louzán stated. "It was an intense moment during the match, it's a high-pressure encounter and I believe it'll remain there [the Carvajal and Yamal dispute]. Nothing more to it."
"These are two players we desperately need, they're two legends of Spanish and international football and therefore, it won't progress beyond this."
Luis de la Fuente's Position on Carvajal, Yamal Confrontation

The concern in Spain is that tensions between Real Madrid and Barcelona players could negatively affect the national team's locker room atmosphere, similar to what occurred during the peak of the Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola feud.
Louzán acknowledged that he hasn't yet discussed the situation with Spain coach Luis de la Fuente, but they'll meet shortly and tackle the issue.
However, El Desmarque indicates the coach has already reached out to both players after El Clásico to ease tensions and check on the Real Madrid defender after reports emerged that he might be sidelined for the remainder of 2025 due to a knee problem.
Carvajal and Yamal were instrumental in Spain's 2024 UEFA European Championship triumph and are anticipated to be included in La Roja's roster as they pursue similar success in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
