Spain Reveals Bold Plans to Enshrine Their 2026 World Cup Triumph for Eternity

The Spanish national team is the focus of a four-part documentary series chronicling La Roja's triumphant 2026 World Cup campaign, set to be released before the year is out.

It was a remarkable summer for Spain, culminating in a 1–0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final — a second world title for La Roja, coming 16 years after their first.

Fans around the globe will have the chance to relive the extraordinary journey — from the disappointment of an unexpected opening draw against Cabo Verde, to the euphoria of denying Lionel Messi and Argentina their title defense, securing one of the most celebrated achievements in Spanish soccer history.

Soccer documentaries have surged in popularity over the last decade, and it comes as no surprise that Spain's unforgettable summer — achieved in the land of Hollywood — will be immortalized on screen.

The four-episode documentary is a joint effort between the Spanish soccer federation (RFEF) and production company Telefónica Broadcast Services, and will be distributed through Prime Video.

The series will feature never-before-seen footage captured by a dedicated production and camera crew that had full access to La Roja's daily activities throughout the seven-week tournament, from the players' arrival at camp right through to the moment the trophy was lifted.

The RFEF issued a statement on Friday offering a glimpse of what global audiences can expect from the series.

"Effort, laughter, camaraderie, moments of tension and maximum demand," the federation said.

"The documentary series guarantees spectacle, entertainment and closeness to understand the keys to success of a team that, thanks to its competitive instinct and permanent eagerness to improve, will be remembered forever not only for what it achieved—a record-breaking World Cup title—but, above all else, how it conquered it."

The series is scheduled for a December release and will be accessible in over 200 countries.

The upcoming 2026 World Cup series will mark the seventh documentary produced by the RFEF in recent years, reflecting the federation's ongoing commitment to honoring the landmark moments in Spanish soccer.

Offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective on Spain's recent international tournament campaigns has been the central theme of the RFEF's documentary output.

The most recent installment followed Spain's road to Euro 2024 glory. The four-part series captured intimate moments from that campaign, including memorable scenes such as Lamine Yamal napping on the team bus before going on to become the youngest goalscorer in European Championship history in the semifinal.

The 2026 World Cup docuseries is expected to follow a similar format, giving viewers unparalleled access to the squad that delivered Spain's second world title.
