Sweden Boss Fires Back at Viktor Gyökeres Critics: 'You Don't Have a Clue'
Sweden's head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson has firmly stated that critics questioning Viktor Gyökeres's contribution at Arsenal simply "lack understanding" of the beautiful game.
Arsenal had to work hard to secure Gyökeres during the summer transfer window, eventually paying a fee that could reach £64 million ($86.2 million) for a striker who had netted an impressive 97 goals in 102 appearances for his Portuguese club.
Despite already netting three times in the Premier League, Gyökeres is currently experiencing a six-match goalless run, leading some observers to express concerns about his influence on Arsenal's performances when he's not finding the back of the net.
However, Tomasson showed no patience for such criticism directed at the Swedish forward.
"Viktor Gyökeres is performing at a very high level right now and is exceptional," Tomasson stated. "Anyone suggesting he lacks influence clearly doesn't comprehend football and has no understanding of the game.
"He opens up space for his teammates, contributes with the ball at his feet, and makes intelligent runs. His play is outstanding and he finds the net consistently, so his influence is clear and he's been performing excellently. It's always positive, as adaptation time is needed when joining a new team."
Bukayo Saka: 'No Questions About Gyökeres's Ability'

Declan Rice found the opener for Arsenal in their latest 2–0 victory against West Ham United, with Bukayo Saka converting from the penalty spot to secure the result. The winger's choice to take the spot-kick himself, instead of allowing Gyökeres the opportunity, generated considerable discussion.
While maintaining that discussions regarding Arsenal's designated penalty taker would stay "internal", Saka emphasized that no worries exist within the Arsenal team regarding Gyökeres's contribution to matches.
"I believe Viktor is performing exceptionally well," Saka stated. "There's no question he will find the net regularly. What he brings to our team, we as his colleagues are incredibly appreciative of his contributions, his ball retention, his movement, and the danger he creates for us.
"He plays a crucial role in why we're securing these victories. His goals are coming. We're confident of that, we trust in that, and we have faith in him. I don't believe there are any uncertainties. He remains positive, content, and continues giving everything in each match."
