Taylor Swift Shocks Fans by Name-Dropping Real Madrid in Latest Album

Taylor Swift surprisingly mentioned Real Madrid in the eighth track of her newest album, "The Life of a Showgirl".

The 14-time Grammy recipient made reference to the Spanish club in her track, "Wi$h Li$t", which explores the luxurious items that celebrities typically crave. Swift mentions a yacht, an Oscar and Balenciaga sunglasses in the opening verse before penning, "They want a contract with Real Madrid", in the following section.

This lyric follows the artist's headline performances at two completely sold-out concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu the previous year during her history-making global tour, The Eras Tour. Los Blancos' iconic stadium was Swift's sole performance location throughout Spain.

Approximately 130,000 supporters were present across both evenings, including Real Madrid icon Toni Kroos. Swift posted on social media after this tour stop, describing the two Madrid nights as "magical" while expressing gratitude to all attendees.

However, the club subsequently had to suspend all musical performances at the Santiago Bernabéu to adhere to municipal noise regulation requirements.

Real Madrid Responds to Name-Drop in The Life of a Showgirl

Within hours of The Life of a Showgirl being released, Real Madrid used social media to showcase their mention in "Wi$h Li$t".

The organization shared an image of Aurélien Tchouaméni enjoying music with the text, "NOW PLAYING", followed by the track name. Los Blancos distributed this content across both X and Instagram platforms.

In apparent harmony with Real Madrid, Swift herself noted that the song "might be" her preferred track on the fresh album during a Heart Radio interview.

Xabi Alonso's squad has not yet officially commented on the unexpected reference, however. Los Blancos are preparing for a crucial match against Villarreal on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Spanish powerhouse will aim to return to their winning form in La Liga following a devastating Madrid derby loss.
