Manchester United closes out Premier League Gameweek 32 with a home fixture against Leeds United at Old Trafford on Monday, though key midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will miss the derby encounter.
Mainoo will not feature even as a substitute, having picked up a "minor injury", per journalist Rich Fay, with further details on his fitness expected after the game. The 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes in United's previous match, a 2–2 stalemate with Bournemouth 24 days ago. He also saw action during England's March international break, coming off the bench in the Three Lions' 1–1 draw with Uruguay on March 27 before starting in England's 0–1 defeat to Japan on March 31.
The young Englishman's injury blow arrives just hours after manager Michael Carrick revealed that Mainoo is edging closer to penning a new deal at Old Trafford.
Who Will Replace Mainoo?

Manuel Ugarte is set to step into Mainoo's starting role in midfield, despite having fallen out of the first-team picture at Old Trafford of late. Ugarte will partner Casemiro, who recently urged Man Utd to continue backing Mainoo, believing he has the potential to be "one of the best eights" for well over a decade. Captain Bruno Fernandes will complete the central midfield trio in his customary No. 10 role as the attacking center midfielder.
Mainoo's unexpected absence complicates the Red Devils' ongoing push to secure a top-five finish in the Premier League and reclaim their standing among Europe's elite. Leeds, on the other hand, are fighting to retain their top-flight status, sitting just three points clear of the relegation zone.
Man Utd will also be without Harry Maguire, who is serving a suspension following his red card in the draw against Bournemouth. Leny Yoro will slot in for Maguire at center-back, partnering Lisandro Martínez in the heart of defense.
