Thomas Muller Set to Pick Between Two Major League Soccer Offers as Bayern Star Eyes American Adventure

Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller is reportedly being linked with a potential transfer to Major League Soccer (MLS) during the upcoming summer window, according to fresh reports emerging from Germany.

The experienced 35-year-old recently confirmed his heartfelt departure from Bayern following a remarkable 25-year journey with his childhood team. While Müller's contract expired on June 30, he chose to extend his tenure to assist Bayern in their Club World Cup quarterfinal campaign. Following Bayern's 2–0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain that concluded his time in Bavaria, the clever striker addressed questions regarding his next chapter.

"I need to work things out over the coming weeks," he reflected. "However, if the ideal opportunity doesn't present itself, I might choose to retire from football. We'll have to wait and see what develops. I attempt to remain at ease even in challenging circumstances."

That "ideal opportunity" seems to be located across the Atlantic. Sky Sport Germany reports that Müller could finalize a new deal within 10 days, with two MLS franchises reportedly in the running. The report identifies LAFC as one potential destination, while the identity of the second interested club remains unclear.

Philadelphia Union have categorically dismissed any involvement in pursuing the player, whereas FC Cincinnati have adopted a completely different stance. "We are an organization with strong German connections, and we have the ability to capture championships. Thomas is a champion; he has achieved tremendous success. We believe he would be an excellent addition to our squad," club CEO Jeff Berding expressed enthusiastically this summer. "Nothing is final until he commits elsewhere."

Discussion has surfaced regarding Müller staying within European football, including some questionable rumors about a possible move to Manchester United. The German star quickly dismissed such speculation. "Right now?" he chuckled. "Absolutely not. I wouldn't be suitable for them and they wouldn't be the right fit for me. Neither party would enjoy it, so it simply wouldn't work!"
