Thomas Muller's Vancouver Whitecaps Set for Epic Western Conference Final Showdown
The Vancouver Whitecaps have reached the Western Conference final for the first time in their MLS existence, following their victory over LAFC on Saturday evening before a record-breaking attendance of more than 53,000 supporters at BC Place Stadium.
However, they must wait several days to learn their next opponent and whether that fixture will be played at home.
Their possible adversaries, top-seeded San Diego FC and fourth-seeded Minnesota United, will contest their Western Conference semifinal on Monday evening, also before an anticipated capacity crowd at San Diego's Snapdragon Stadium.
If San Diego defeats Minnesota, Vancouver would travel to California for the Conference final. Should Minnesota triumph, the Whitecaps would return to BC Place for another home fixture against the Loons.

Either way, the fixture will occur on Nov. 29 or 30, with the Eastern Conference final scheduled for the alternate date, showcasing the victors from the Eastern Conference semifinals between Philadelphia Union vs. New York City FC and FC Cincinnati vs. Inter Miami.
The conference champions will then clash in MLS Cup on Dec. 6 in a single-game battle for the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy, hosted by the squad that achieved a superior regular season record.
For the Whitecaps, New York City represents the sole team they could welcome for MLS Cup. Any other Eastern Conference winner would force the Whitecaps to play away.
How the Whitecaps Reached the MLS Western Conference Final

Thomas Müller's Vancouver Whitecaps have taken an eventful journey to reach the club's inaugural Conference Final, having previously been eliminated in the second round during 2015 and 2017.
Following a second-place Western Conference finish with a club-record 62 points, the Whitecaps dominated FC Dallas in their opening best-of-three series. In the Conference semifinal, they required a penalty shootout to overcome Son Heung-min's LAFC and progress to a historic MLS Cup playoff campaign.
Although the 'Caps have captured five Canadian Championship trophies during their MLS tenure, they have participated in just one other final, which occurred earlier in 2025 when they fell to Liga MX club Cruz Azul in a contest for the Concacaf Champions Cup.
