Three Premier League Giants Battle for Christopher Nkunku's Signature as Transfer War Intensifies

Manchester United face surprising rivals in their chase for Christopher Nkunku, with Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United now reportedly showing interest in the Chelsea striker.

Following an extended transfer saga, the Red Devils officially announced the acquisition of Bryan Mbeumo, completing their second major signing this summer. Manchester United also brought back Matheus Cunha in June as Ruben Amorim continues his mission to reconstruct the squad following the club's disastrous 2024–25 campaign.

However, the English club remains active in seeking additional offensive options due to Marcus Rashford's recent exit and the questionable situations surrounding Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho.

Nkunku, who has been connected to a Chelsea departure, has become a Manchester United target. Reports from The Telegraph indicate that the French player is also attracting attention from Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, alongside Bayern Munich.

This development follows Chelsea's recent decision to reduce their valuation of Nkunku from £65 million ($87.6 million) to £43.3 million ($58.3 million). The Blues would face a financial loss on the former RB Leipzig striker, who transferred to the club for £52 million ($70.1 million) before the 2023–24 campaign.

The signings of João Pedro, Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Estêvão, combined with Chelsea's ongoing pursuit of RB Leipzig talent Xavi Simons, have created opportunities for Nkunku's expected departure from London.
