Tim Weah's Club Fires Back After USMNT Star Demands Transfer Respect

Juventus sporting director Damien Comolli has strongly countered the claims made by Tim Weah's representative concerning his potential transfer to Marseille, standing by the Italian club while placing responsibility on the U.S. national team striker.
Weah's agent Badou Sambague publicly expressed his frustration with Juventus this week, claiming the Turin side demonstrated "complete disrespect". The USMNT player opted out of Mauricio Pochettino's Gold Cup squad to remain available for Juve during the summer's Club World Cup, where he played only 45 minutes.
Sambague alleged that a Juve official intentionally "sabotaged" Weah's tournament experience and "attempted to force him toward an unwanted destination". "Now," Sambague added, "in retaliation, he's demanding excessive compensation while waiting for a Premier League opportunity that won't materialize and will never receive our approval."
Comolli was determined to refute these claims. "We merit respect, we show respect to all," the executive declared to Sky Italia. "Our players receive proper care, nobody gets marginalized."

Weah reportedly desires a transfer to Marseille, though Comolli raised doubts about the feasibility of such a move.
"When you publicly declare your intention to join a specific club, and only that club, you must ensure that organization supports you," he cautioned. "If that club fails to support you, what options remain? You find yourself trapped with no alternatives.
"You announced loudly that Marseille is your sole destination, but what occurs if Marseille isn't there for you?"
"The player desires Marseille, but in football you cannot simply select a team because without the proper offer, you remain on the bench," Comolli continued. "And that offer has not materialized."
Weah was connected to a potential move to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League during the summer, with a deal for him and teammate Samuel Mbangula valued at approximately $25.6 million reportedly agreed upon in June. Those discussions eventually collapsed, leaving Weah in transfer uncertainty.
