Tottenham Faces Staggering Financial Blow as Thomas Frank Dismissal Price Tag Emerges
Tottenham Hotspur spent £8 million ($10.9 million) to dismiss manager Thomas Frank, according to a new report.
Frank was appointed last summer after the controversial firing of Ange Postecoglou, with Spurs negotiating a deal to release the Danish coach from his Brentford contract. Just 38 matches later, Frank received his walking papers, as Spurs quickly moved to appoint Igor Tudor as their caretaker manager through the season's end.
With less than 12 months completed on a three-year agreement, the Daily Mail reports Frank received a settlement of £8 million following his termination.

The Frank project has concluded, but it represents a decision that could substantially affect the club's finances moving forward.
The £8 million compensation paid to Frank and his coaching team upon exit nearly matches the £10 million Spurs spent to secure his release from Brentford just 12 months earlier, and that excludes his wages from the calculation.
In total, the report estimates Spurs' investment in Frank reached an enormous £23 million, which doesn't include the £4 million spent to end Postecoglou's contract last summer.
Spurs have begun their hunt for their next full-time manager and, considering the expense of their recent appointments, might favor an available candidate for their upcoming hire.

As typically happens with caretaker appointments, Tudor is essentially undergoing a four-month trial for the full-time position, though Spurs will already have preferred candidates to assume control at season's conclusion regardless of his results.
Leading the shortlist is believed to be USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino, a beloved figure from his tenure in charge between 2014 and 2019.
Pochettino remains committed to the United States through this summer's World Cup, and interested parties have been cautioned about the substantial expense of securing his services immediately. Sensibly, Spurs have refrained from such attempts, but circumstances seem favorable for a summer transfer.
There will also be consideration for Roberto De Zerbi, a target from last summer prior to Frank's hiring. His recent exit from Marseille creates an opportunity for the former Brighton & Hove Albion manager to return to the Premier League.
