Tottenham Strike Deal for Mohammed Kudus as Medical Scheduled

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to acquire Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United for approximately £55 million ($74.7 million), with the player's medical examination scheduled for Thursday.
The Athletic reports that while Tottenham's original £50 million proposal for the Ghana international was turned down, West Ham have now accepted an enhanced offer. Should the 24-year-old successfully complete his medical assessment, he will put pen to paper on a six-year deal with the North London club.
Kudus is reportedly "focusing on securing a transfer to Spurs" and reaching agreement on personal terms with the player is anticipated to proceed smoothly. The dynamic attacking midfielder possesses an £85 million buyout clause that remains active during the initial ten days of July, though West Ham have shown willingness to negotiate a considerably reduced price with their London counterparts.
Kudus delivered an outstanding inaugural campaign with the Hammers during 2023–24 following his transfer from Ajax, netting 14 goals and providing six assists across all tournaments. Nevertheless, his offensive contributions declined in the subsequent season with only nine combined goals and assists.
Tottenham have been keen to strengthen their attacking options this summer and Kudus will represent the third acquisition under Thomas Frank's leadership, following the arrivals of Japanese defender Kōta Takai and French prospect Mathys Tel. The latter completed a permanent switch to Spurs from Bayern Munich this summer after spending the previous campaign on loan.
If the transfer is completed promptly, Kudus could feature in Tottenham's pre-season curtain-raiser against Reading on July 19, and would also become the first player to move from West Ham to Spurs since Scott Parker made the switch in 2011.
