Tottenham Strike Gold: PSG's 'Quality Player' Joins Spurs in Dramatic Deadline Day Deal
Tottenham Hotspur strengthened their forward line on transfer deadline day by completing a loan agreement for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, whom manager Thomas Frank enthusiastically described as "a quality player."
The France international attacker moves to North London for the campaign, although the arrangement lacks a purchase clause or option to make the transfer permanent in 2026, according to The Athletic. Kolo Muani had fallen out of favor at the French champions after spending the latter portion of the previous season on loan at Juventus, where he rediscovered his form.
The 26-year-old netted 10 times in 22 outings for the Turin club while providing three assists. With Dominic Solanke sidelined due to an ankle problem sustained during preseason preparations, Kolo Muani provides Spurs manager Frank with additional firepower alongside Richarlison, who remains the sole other fit striker in the squad.
"Randal is a quality player who has proven himself over a number of years, playing for big teams in the Champions League and also with good experience for the France national team," Frank praised. "He's a good age, in the prime of his career, has good qualities that will suit both us and the Premier League, and gives us a different option in the final third being able to play out wide and through the middle.
"We are all excited for what Randal can add to the squad, and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Securing Kolo Muani follows the acquisition of Xavi Simons on a permanent transfer from RB Leipzig. Tottenham pursued a creative attacking midfielder throughout the window, targeting Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze from Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace respectively, plus Manchester City's Savinho, after James Maddison suffered an ACL setback.
Forest alleged that Spurs made an improper approach for Gibbs-White as the England midfielder ultimately penned fresh terms with his current club. Despite Tottenham reportedly being in advanced talks for Eze, cross-town rivals Arsenal swooped in to secure the former academy graduate's return.
Kolo Muani brings valuable experience as a seasoned international with 31 caps for France. He gained recognition during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt before his move to PSG, where he struggled to establish himself as a key player.
The French striker last featured in the FIFA Club World Cup during the summer, finding the net twice in three matches as Juventus were knocked out in the round of 16 by Real Madrid.
