Tottenham's Top Target Set to Shock with Stunning Man City Reversal
Manchester City's Brazilian winger Savinho is poised to commit his future to the club with a new deal, despite previously expressing desire to move to Tottenham Hotspur just weeks ago.
Tottenham's new boss Thomas Frank identified Savinho as a target in early August, leading to an official inquiry to City. While the Premier League champions were hesitant to part with the Brazilian talent, they indicated he could depart for an appropriate fee.
The 21-year-old reportedly expressed genuine interest in the Tottenham switch, believing Frank could provide him with more regular playing time ahead of the upcoming World Cup. City had allegedly identified Real Madrid's Rodrygo as their preferred replacement should Spurs meet their valuation, however no adequate offer materialized before the transfer window closed.
Despite Savinho managing only 16 minutes of Premier League football this campaign, speculation about renewed Tottenham interest has persisted. However, Fabrizio Romano indicates that a contract extension is imminent.

The Citizens and Savinho are finalizing terms on a deal that will secure the young Brazilian's services at the Etihad for an extended period.
Since arriving at Pep Guardiola's squad from City Football Group affiliate Troyes in 2024, Savinho has become a valuable squad member. His inaugural campaign yielded 13 assists and three goals in all competitions, despite being limited to 21 Premier League starting appearances.
During the summer transfer window, Savinho's potential move to North London appeared increasingly likely, but City rejected two separate offers from Spurs and eventually concluded that negotiations had progressed too far to secure an adequate replacement.
An unexplained injury kept Savinho out of action during the season's opening weeks, raising questions about whether Tottenham's pursuit had affected him, but he has since appeared in City's previous four matches and netted his maiden goal of the campaign in their Carabao Cup victory against Huddersfield Town.
