Transfer Window Deadline: Hours Left Before the Market Slams Shut!

Transfer Window Deadline: Hours Left Before the Market Slams Shut!

A relatively quiet winter transfer period is about to burst into action on Deadline Day, with teams rushing to finalize their rosters for the remainder of the campaign.

This window has largely lacked major transfer dramas, though important deals have been completed. Manchester City operated swiftly and quietly to secure two of the Premier League's finest players in their positions, Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guéhi, and for the consecutive winter period, they appear poised to finish as the Premier League's top spenders.

Going into Deadline Day, the league's 20 teams have collectively invested £325 million ($445 million)—a decrease from the previous year's £421 million ($577 million) and significantly below the record £815 million ($1.12 billion) from 2023.

Nevertheless, English teams have remained the most active across the continent, and late-day excitement is inevitable. Time is running short, however.

The Premier League's January transfer period concludes on Monday, February 2 at 7 p.m. GMT (2 p.m ET/11 a.m PT). We've become familiar with Deadline Day ending somewhat earlier in the evening in England, having previously stayed up well into the night waiting for the cutoff.

Nevertheless, if teams file a deal sheet prior to the 7 p.m. cutoff, they'll receive an additional two hours to finalize the required documentation and complete the transfer.

The January transfer period similarly ends across Europe's top leagues on Feb. 2. In Germany, Italy and France, the cutoff time matches the Premier League at 7 p.m. GMT.

Spanish teams, however, have until 10.59 p.m. to wrap up their winter transfers. In Scotland, the transfer window shuts at 11 p.m.

Another market worth noting is Turkey, where Süper Lig clubs have until Feb. 6 to finalize their dealings.
