Trent Alexander-Arnold's Hamstring Injury Could Sideline Real Madrid Star for Multiple Matches

Trent Alexander-Arnold's Hamstring Injury Could Sideline Real Madrid Star for Multiple Matches

Trent Alexander-Arnold faces an extended period away from action following a hamstring problem sustained during the match against Marseille.

Alexander-Arnold's first Champions League appearance for Real Madrid was cut dramatically short. The England defender completed only three passes before pulling up sharply, grasping the rear of his left thigh in obvious pain.

Following a brief evaluation by the medical team, Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field after just five minutes of play. Within 24 hours, Real Madrid officially announced the right-back had suffered a muscle problem in the biceps femoris of his left leg.

Xabi Alonso must now navigate without his marquee acquisition during some of Los Blancos' most crucial fixtures in the early stages of the 2025–26 campaign.

Real Madrid provided no specific timeframe for Alexander-Arnold's comeback in their official announcement. However, The Athletic suggests the 26-year-old faces a six to eight-week absence.

Alexander-Arnold is facing approximately two months on the treatment table, potentially missing as many as 10 fixtures across all tournaments. Los Blancos must cope in both La Liga and the Champions League without their first-choice right-back.

La Liga Matches Trent Alexander-Arnold Will Miss for Real Madrid

Even with a minimum six-week recovery period, Alexander-Arnold will be absent for six La Liga fixtures for Real Madrid. The former Liverpool player will miss encounters with Espanyol and Levante, plus the crucial Madrid derby concluding September.

Alexander-Arnold will be unavailable for Los Blancos' last fixture before the October international window against Villarreal on Oct. 4. He will also remain in Madrid when the Spanish powerhouse meets Getafe at the Coliseum on Oct. 19.

The most significant setback for both Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid occurs at October's end. Unless he returns earlier than expected, the defender will miss his debut El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu.

If Alexander-Arnold requires the complete eight-week recovery period, he will also be absent against Valencia on Nov. 2.

Champions League Matches Trent Alexander-Arnold Will Miss for Real Madrid

Alexander-Arnold is expected to miss a minimum of two Champions League encounters. His injury will sideline him while Real Madrid journey to Asia to face Kairat Almaty on Sept. 30.

Real Madrid then meets Juventus on Oct. 22 for their second encounter in under four months. Unlike the FIFA Club World Cup semifinals, however, Alexander-Arnold will not be available for selection.

Following that, the Spanish club travels to Anfield on Nov. 4. Alexander-Arnold will be racing against time to recover for his homecoming to Merseyside, but any minor complications could rule him out against Liverpool.
