Two Fresh Clubs Chase Antony as Man Utd Star's Real Betis Dreams Crumble

A fresh report suggests that the Saudi Pro League represents Antony's most viable exit strategy from Manchester United during this summer transfer window.
Following his return from a productive loan stint at Real Betis in the opening months of 2025, Antony quickly found himself categorized among United's extensive list of surplus players. While Marcus Rashford successfully secured a loan transfer to Barcelona, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho remain alongside Antony in what the club refers to as their "bomb squad".
Antony and his fellow outcasts have been excluded from the squad's pre-season tour of the United States, allowing them to concentrate on arranging departures this summer. While a permanent return to Real Betis remains the Brazilian's preferred option, the financially constrained Spanish club has consistently maintained they cannot meet United's monetary requirements.
Such financial limitations don't apply in Saudi Arabia. Sky Sports News reports that two unidentified top-tier clubs from the Kingdom have shown "growing interest" in Antony. The same source considers Betis' prospects of raising the necessary funds for the 25-year-old winger as "unrealistic".

Nevertheless, Antony reportedly wishes to "prioritise" a transfer within Europe's elite five leagues. Rumors linking him with Como quickly dissipated, while Erik ten Hag ruled out his new Bayer Leverkusen team from potentially reuniting with his former player from United and Ajax.
The Pro League might also become Malacia's new destination. Dutch outlet VI reports that United have received a "firm offer" for the left-back, who could see his wages increase by 30% if he accepts the Saudi Arabian move.
United's open lack of confidence in numerous first-team squad players appears strange—a player's market value will inevitably decline when their current club makes it obvious they're surplus to requirements—and Malacia's placement among these unwanted players is particularly confusing.
The 25-year-old defender endured over 500 days without featuring for United following a severe knee injury. Malacia was given eight uncertain appearances back in United colors during the 2024–25 season before being loaned to Feyenoord for the campaign's conclusion.
The Dutch club declined their permanent purchase option, and United's bargaining power for a player still recovering his form after such an extended absence has been severely compromised by their own decisions.
