Unstoppable Barcelona Set to Blaze Past Real Betis in Historic Title Pursuit

Barcelona are aiming to etch their name into La Liga history this Saturday evening, but they'll need to get past an in-form Real Betis to achieve it.

The Catalan club head into the weekend with a flawless record across 10 matches in all competitions this season. Eight of those victories have come in La Liga, and should Barcelona secure a ninth consecutive league win against Betis, they would equal a 58-year-old Real Madrid record as the only clubs to begin a season with a perfect nine-game run in Spain's top division.

Extending that remarkable run will be the primary objective, though Hansi Flick will also have one eye on Tuesday's enormous Champions League away fixture against Paris Saint-Germain. With such a high-stakes match looming, the German manager may be inclined to shuffle his squad on Saturday.

Barcelona Predicted Lineup vs. Real Betis

Barcelona lineup vs. Betis

GK: Joan García—Rarely called into action this season, García has been outstanding, functioning almost like a third center-back. The Spaniard has dealt with every ball played in behind Barcelona's defensive line, offering the kind of security the champions need to express themselves at the other end of the pitch.

RB: Jules Koundé—Eric García endured a difficult outing against Galatasaray, and following a standout display last weekend, Koundé could earn back-to-back La Liga starts for the first time this campaign.

CB: Pau Cubarsí—The Golden Boy award frontrunner wasn't at his sharpest last time out, but the Spaniard remains the standout performer in this backline. It has otherwise been a near-perfect start to the season for Cubarsí.

CB: Gerard Martín—Martín will continue to partner Cubarsí at the center of defense after yet another injury derailed Andreas Christensen's bid to challenge him for a starting berth.

LB: Xavi Espart—João Cancelo has made back-to-back starts just once this season, largely due to the rise of Espart. Flick places great trust in the teenager, who could be handed a seventh start of the campaign.

CM: Rodri—Barcelona's midfield anchor distributed the ball 113 times against Galatasaray, but his primary task on Saturday will be to keep a lid on former Spain colleague Isco, who serves as the creative engine of Betis's attack.

CM: Pedri—Pedri produced his finest performance of the season against Galatasaray. Any suggestion that he and Rodri cannot coexist in the same midfield has been firmly put to rest.

RW: Lamine Yamal—Barça's No. 10 is virtually unstoppable right now. Yamal's brace of assists in the midweek comeback victory brought his tally to 17 goal contributions already, and only the most optimistic opponent would back against him adding to that here.

AM: Fermín López—López may play second fiddle to Dani Olmo at international level, but the dynamic playmaker appears to be Flick's preferred option in the No. 10 role at present. His instinct for exploiting space at the right moment is a key factor behind Barça's relentless attacking output.

LW: Karim Adeyemi—Adeyemi's sensational introduction to life in Catalonia rolled on with his sixth goal involvement of the season on Tuesday. The German's explosive pace and energy stretches opposing defenses throughout the full 90 minutes, making any potential breather for Anthony Gordon far easier to accept.

ST: Gabriel Jesus—A second start in a Barcelona shirt beckons for Jesus, who has already found the net three times since stepping into Raphinha's role up front. The Brazilian is closing in on full fitness and may be handed minutes with the PSG showdown on the horizon.
