Olympique Marseille has confirmed the acquisition of United States men's national team winger Tim Weah, bringing closure to an extended transfer process that sees the 25-year-old leave Juventus.

Weah moves to the French club on a temporary deal for the 2025–26 campaign. The arrangement, which The Athletic reports costs €1 million ($1.16 million), features a mandatory €14 million ($17.4 million) purchase option.

The contract also includes €3 million ($3.48 million) in performance bonuses and a future sale percentage for Juventus.

This transfer follows a prolonged dispute between Weah and Juventus. The American's representative Badou Sambague recently criticized the Turin side and its sporting director Damien Comolli, alleging they treated Weah with "complete disrespect" by delaying his departure.

The transfer has now been finalized, concluding Weah's tenure at Juventus. The USMNT player struggled to make an impact in Italy, netting only seven times in 78 matches. His two-season spell with the Italian club was largely affected by fitness issues and limited playing time.

Weah faces a new beginning with his return to French football. The 25-year-old started his professional journey at Paris Saint-Germain and later featured for Lille before moving to Juventus in June 2023.

"Timothy Weah possesses a drive that doesn't blind, but guides his path with modesty and resolve," Marseille stated in an official announcement. "Rather than staying in the background, he has emerged as a quiet beacon in his own manner, committed to establishing his reputation."

The expectation will be on Weah to deliver at his new destination with the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching in twelve months. The USMNT will be relying on the forward to regain his best form to help the national team shine on American territory.
