USMNT Stars Assemble: Complete Squad Revealed for High-Stakes Showdowns Against South Korea and Japan

The United States men's national soccer team revealed the 23-player squad that Mauricio Pochettino has selected for September exhibition matches against South Korea and Japan.

The most notable inclusions in the roster are Christian Pulisic and Tim Weah making their comeback after both stars were missing during this summer's Concacaf Gold Cup tournament. Several players who were absent from the Gold Cup remain unavailable for this training camp, including Gio Reyna, Weston McKennie, and Antonee Robinson. Goalkeeper Matt Turner was also omitted from the selection, which means Gold Cup starter and New York City FC keeper Matt Freese appears likely to receive significant playing time in goal.

Tristan Blackmon's inclusion in the squad was inadvertently revealed by his new Vancouver Whitecaps teammate Thomas Müller following their MLS victory against St. Louis CITY.

"We have several players who are just coming back from injuries or have had extremely limited playing time over the past few months, so this gives them an opportunity to continue developing their fitness and match sharpness ahead of upcoming autumn competitions," Pochettino stated in the official announcement.
