Viktor Gyokeres Rages Over Shocking Arsenal Transfer Betrayal That Left Him Devastated

Arsenal's transfer target Viktor Gyökeres has reportedly responded with anger to Sporting CP president's statement that the club is under no obligation to part ways with their star striker.
Gyökeres has emerged as one of Europe's most sought-after forwards following an exceptional campaign where he netted 54 goals across all competitions for Sporting, competing with Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappé for the European Golden Shoe until the final stages of the season.
However, a move to a top-tier club has yet to come to fruition for the Swedish international, and his relationship with Sporting appears to be deteriorating due to what he perceives as broken promises.
The striker is reportedly clinging to an oral commitment made with Sporting during last summer that guaranteed his departure this year for a sum significantly lower than his €100 million (£85.6 million, $117.2 million) buyout clause.
While Sporting president Federico Varandas has acknowledged that the Portuguese champions would accept an offer below the nine-figure threshold, it may not be as modest as Gyökeres or interested clubs anticipated. Despite Varandas describing a departure as highly probable, the club maintains they won't be pressured into selling due to financial constraints and will dictate the terms.
Portuguese publication Record reports that Gyökeres has engaged in a "direct confrontation" with Varandas and is boycotting pre-season training, despite being given an additional week of vacation. This appears to be another instance of the player considering strike action to push through his desired move.

Varandas' comments that allegedly infuriated Gyökeres outlined the club's transfer stance while drawing comparisons to other summer deals.
"Sporting has pledged that following extensive negotiations, we will not insist on the complete clause amount; we will maintain reasonable expectations regarding Viktor's valuation," the president stated.
"We have monitored market activity and observed [Martín] Zubimendi, who is six months Viktor's junior, transfer for €65 million (£55.6 million, $76.2 million). We've seen Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both attacking players but who, in my view, lack Viktor's commercial worth or ability, being valued at approximately €75 million (£64.2 million, $87.9 million).
"Considering our reasonable demands, I'm confident Viktor will secure his move—unless his representation is exceptionally poor, which seems unlikely given that he ranks among the world's elite players."
