Vinicius Junior Fires Back at Real Madrid Doubters: 'Look at Everything I've Accomplished'

Following an outstanding display in Real Madrid's commanding 6–1 victory over Monaco, Vinicius Junior opened up about how "difficult" the past week has been for him, someone who desires to be recognized for "all" his contributions to the club throughout the last eight years.

The Brazilian star faced constant jeering during Los Blancos' 2–0 win against Levante over the weekend, bearing the majority of the home supporters' frustration regarding the recent chaos surrounding the club. Within a fortnight, the Spanish powerhouse suffered defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final, parted ways with Xabi Alonso, and were knocked out of the Copa del Rey round of 16 by lower-division team Albacete.

Álvaro Arbeloa's squad delivered a resounding response on Tuesday evening, however, dominating at the Bernabéu to net six goals against Monaco. Vinicius Jr set up three of those strikes before the forward netted a brilliant goal himself in the 63rd minute.

In an instant, the crowd of white jerseys were chanting his name, the weekend's jeers becoming a fading memory. After the victory, Vinicius Jr shared his thoughts on his connection with the Madrid faithful.

"The past several days have been extremely challenging for all my colleagues and particularly for me, due to the jeering and all the commentary about me," the Brazilian stated.

"I'm constantly under scrutiny, and I don't wish to be there for matters away from the field—I want recognition for my performances on it and for all my achievements at this club."

Vinicius Jr established his reputation in the white jersey by contributing to Real Madrid's 14th and 15th Champions League victories, along with 12 additional honors. Recently, however, he attracted attention for negative reasons, including a public dispute with Alonso and delayed contract discussions.

"However, the expectations are extremely high, and I must perform consistently," Vinicius Jr continued. "I won't always be at my peak technically, but I strive to give everything for this club that has provided me with so much."

Real Madrid's demolition of Monaco appears to have restored belief to the 15-time European champions. Securing victory by five goals equals the team's largest margin of triumph in 2025–26, and there could be comparable outcomes ahead with fan backing, according to Vinicius Jr.

"At home, we need the backing of our supporters so everything can return to normal. We all desire victory and, if we're united, we're going to achieve remarkable things this season," the No. 7 expressed.

"I had provided numerous assists [against Monaco] and all my colleagues told me I needed to find the net. It's crucial to have my teammates' trust, we're like family. If we're performing at our peak, we can capture major honors this season."

Los Blancos currently occupy second position in the Champions League league phase table. The club is also just one point behind Barcelona in La Liga following the Catalans' 2–1 loss to Real Sociedad over the weekend.

The squad will aim to secure three consecutive victories under Arbeloa when they visit the Estadio de la Cerámica this weekend, where they will clash with third-placed Villarreal in a fixture that could significantly influence the battle for the Spanish title.
