However, these rumors have been dismissed, with Liverpool's leadership reportedly maintaining "complete faith" in the Dutch coach.
With fixtures arriving in rapid succession, Liverpool must recover swiftly. However, a Carabao Cup fourth round encounter against Crystal Palace—who have proven problematic for the Reds recently—may not be the ideal remedy for their troubles.

However, captain Van Dijk, in his pre-match program commentary, states there's no opportunity for Liverpool to wallow in self-pity during this period of criticism, with the squad's focus needing to center on recovery strategies.
"My message before this match is straightforward: we remain united, regardless of circumstances," Van Dijk stated. "We understand this is a challenging period. We recognize that results and displays aren't meeting our desired levels, which will generate pressure, examination and criticism externally. We acknowledge that.
"Representing a club of Liverpool's caliber comes with specific standards and expectations. When you don't reach those standards or fulfill those expectations, you must handle the consequences. That's simply the reality.
"Then you must demonstrate the proper response. You must self-reflect, display resilience and determination, work diligently and discover a path to recovery. That's precisely what we'll aim to accomplish tonight."
Van Dijk: Liverpool Response Must Begin Immediately
"Saturday was deeply frustrating, naturally," Van Dijk added. "After performing well against Frankfurt in the Champions League, we hoped to build momentum at Brentford. Regrettably, we couldn't achieve that, and losing in that fashion was particularly difficult to accept.
"The positive aspect of elite football is that another match arrives quickly, providing another opportunity to correct things. There's no time for self-pity when representing this institution.
"Our response must begin immediately. I've emphasized this repeatedly, but everything begins with dedication, humility and unity. We function as a team, and we must demonstrate that during both successful and challenging periods. If we do, I'm confident we possess the ability to emerge from this difficult phase."
Slot: No Justifications Exist
In his program notes, Slot reinforced several of Van Dijk's points and acknowledged that Liverpool has failed to meet expected standards.
