West Ham Axe Graham Potter Following Catastrophic 2025–26 Season Opening
West Ham United have announced the exit of head coach Graham Potter following a poor beginning to the campaign.
The Irons find themselves in 19th position after five matchdays with only a single victory, though it was the manner of their four losses that particularly troubled fans, who were let down by the absence of progress from the previous campaign.
Potter stated during Friday's media briefing that he had engaged in "constructive discussions" with the club's hierarchy, however a release issued on Saturday morning concluded his nine-month spell at the London Stadium.
"West Ham United can confirm that Head Coach Graham Potter has departed the Club," the Irons announced.
"Results and displays throughout the latter portion of last season and the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign have fallen short of standards, and the Board of Directors feel that a modification is required to enhance the squad's standing in the Premier League at the earliest opportunity.

"The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also departed with immediate effect.
"The Board wishes to express gratitude to Graham and his coaching team for their dedication throughout their period with the Hammers and extends best wishes for their future endeavors.
"The procedure for selecting a successor is in progress. The Club will not be providing additional statements at this moment."
Potter leaves West Ham with a tally of six victories, five draws and 14 losses across 25 matches as manager, netting 30 goals while allowing 41.
