Which Jersey Number Could Eberechi Eze Wear if He Joins Arsenal?

Arsenal are on the verge of completing their seventh summer acquisition as Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze approaches a transfer to north London.
In a remarkable development, Arsenal have successfully intercepted Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of the England international, agreeing to pay approximately £68 million ($91.3 million) for his signature. Predictably, Arsenal fans are delighted about securing one of the Premier League's most inventive players—while also snatching him away from their fierce rivals Spurs.
The Gunners have experienced notable changes in squad numbering this season following multiple new arrivals, with Eze now able to choose his desired number for the 2025–26 campaign.
Below are the jersey numbers currently available to Arsenal's latest recruit.
Eberechi Eze Shirt Number History

Eze has donned four different jersey numbers throughout his early professional journey, beginning with No. 39 at Queens Park Rangers during the 2016–17 season. He was loaned to Wycombe Wanderers for the opening half of the subsequent campaign and received a minor promotion, wearing the No. 27 jersey at Adams Park during his six-month spell.
QPR brought Eze back and assigned him the No. 30 jersey for the rest of 2017–18, before awarding him the prestigious No. 10 the next season following several outstanding displays.
Although the No. 10 has been Eze's number for the last five seasons at Palace, he initially received the No. 25 when he made his high-profile switch to Selhurst Park in 2020–21.
For England's senior team, Eze has sported three different numbers: No. 21, 18 and 15.
Arsenal's Available Shirt Numbers

New arrival Viktor Gyökeres has claimed Thierry Henry's iconic No.14 jersey, which might have suited Eze, but the Englishman's favored No. 10 remains vacant. That's almost guaranteed to be his choice at the Emirates Stadium, with Emile Smith Rowe being the previous holder of a shirt worn by legends like Mesut Özil, Robin van Persie and Dennis Bergkamp.
The No. 5 would represent an unconventional choice for Eze but he might draw inspiration from legendary playmaker Zinedine Zidane, who sported that number at Real Madrid. The 27-year-old's fellow Englishman Jude Bellingham presently wears that number at the Santiago Bernabéu.
No. 18 has become available after Takehiro Tomiyasu's recent departure, while No. 25, 26 and 27 are all unoccupied.
