Andrew Giuliani, who leads the White House World Cup task force, has thrown his support behind England to claim victory at this summer's tournament.
Following the USMNT's elimination by Belgium in the round of 16, the tournament's co-hosts are now rooting for one of the remaining contenders — England, Spain, France, or Argentina — with Giuliani placing his faith in the Three Lions.
"You know, if the United States can't win on our 250th birthday, then a great storyline would be the English coming to America and winning during our anniversary celebrations," he told the Daily Mail.
"It's been 60 years of hurt I gather for England, so that would be a beautiful victory for them if they won the tournament. I do absolutely think England can go all the way, they are one of the top teams left now."
Giuliani also noted that President Donald Trump, who recently disclosed a round of golf he played with England forward Harry Kane, has been keeping a particularly close eye on Thomas Tuchel's squad.
Kane's Past Meeting With President Trump

Trump took to social media last week to announce he had played a round of golf with Bayern Munich striker Kane, whom he called a "great player" and a "great guy." Kane described the encounter as "surreal."
"Harry Kane is the number one goal scorer for the England team, and if they are going to win the tournament, he will be the main reason," Giuliani added. "He is one of the main players on the team, and he and Jude Bellingham are fine athletes.
"England strike me as being an exceedingly well-balanced team. You have to be confident, and what the coach has to drill into them is that they have the potential to win."
Both Kane and Bellingham have netted six goals at this summer's World Cup, sitting two behind current Golden Boot frontrunners Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé — representing Argentina and France, respectively — who each have eight.

Should England fulfill Giuliani's expectations, Trump and Kane will soon share another, far more high-profile moment together, as the President is scheduled to participate in the trophy presentation ceremony for the World Cup winner.
As England's captain, Kane would receive the trophy directly from Trump — who made headlines during his last appearance at a similar event by remaining on stage as Chelsea's Reece James lifted the Club World Cup trophy the previous summer.
