Wrexham have confirmed the acquisition of Sheffield United midfielder Callum O'Hare for an undisclosed fee reported to be around $9.5 million (£7 million) on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old becomes Wrexham's seventh summer recruit and has expressed his ambition to help the club earn promotion to the Premier League, having penned an initial three-year contract at the Racecourse Ground, with the option of a fourth year.
The transfer is still subject to international clearance and registration, and he will be unavailable for the clash against Millwall on Wednesday as the deal was finalized after the 12 p.m. BST (7 a.m. ET, 4 a.m. PT) registration cutoff on Tuesday.
Wrexham have until the 11 p.m. BST (6 p.m. ET, 3 p.m. PT) deadline on Tuesday, September 1, to make any further additions to their squad.
Why Wrexham Have Signed Callum O'Hare
Phil Parkinson made signing an attacking midfielder a priority in the closing weeks of the summer window, feeling his side was struggling to generate enough opportunities for the forwards.
Wrexham CEO Michael Williamson had recently stated the club was "comfortable" with its attacking options, noting that the emphasis was on improving delivery into the final third.
The Red Dragons pursued several attacking midfielders late in the window but shifted their attention to O'Hare after primary target Femi Azeez made clear he was only interested in a Premier League move if he were to depart Millwall. Ipswich Town's Anis Mehmeti, meanwhile, reportedly felt a switch to North Wales was not the right step for him at this point in his career.
O'Hare brings a wealth of Championship experience to the Wrexham setup and was the standout player for a struggling Sheffield United side last season. He also played a pivotal role as the Blades reached the Championship playoff final two seasons ago, where they fell to defeat against Sunderland.

Following his unveiling as a Wrexham player, O'Hare told club media:

Wrexham manager Parkinson added:
