Wrexham have let go of six first-team players at the conclusion of the 2025–26 campaign.
Andy Cannon, Jay Rodriguez, Reuben Egan, Callum Edwards, Tom Kelly and Max Purvis will all leave on free transfers once their contracts come to an end next month. Issa Kabore will head back to Manchester City following the conclusion of his season-long loan spell.
Cannon earned three consecutive promotions during his spell in North Wales after arriving at Wrexham from Hull City for an undisclosed fee in December 2022. He featured in 15 league games as the Red Dragons clinched the National League title and went on to make 37 appearances across all competitions as Wrexham secured promotion from League Two the next season.
The 30-year-old contributed 20 appearances during the League One promotion push but failed to register a single senior outing in their first Championship season. Cannon spent the opening half of the campaign on the sidelines after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury before joining League One outfit Burton Albion on loan in the January window. Wrexham held an option to extend his contract by a further year but chose not to exercise it.
Rodriguez will also leave as a promotion winner. The 36-year-old arrived at Wrexham in the January transfer window last year and contributed 17 appearances as the club finished runners-up in League One. He managed just eight substitute appearances this season as persistent injuries limited his involvement.
Kabore's departure back to Manchester City was expected following the end of his season-long loan. There was no clause to make the 25-year-old's move permanent this summer, meaning Wrexham would have to enter fresh negotiations with Pep Guardiola's club if they wanted to retain him.
Wrexham Extend Three Deals

Wrexham have additionally confirmed the activation of contract extensions for academy players Aaron James, Alex Moore and Rio Owen. All three had been set to become free agents next month, but the Red Dragons have triggered options to keep them for a further 12 months.
The North Wales outfit has also extended professional contract offers to teenagers Sammy Chesworth, Tommy Clayton, George Cruise, Dafydd Edwards, Oliver McTweed and Joe Rees. Nikolas Slosarczyk has also been offered a deal to continue as a third-year scholar.
Daymeon Almeida, Casey Bedford and Umar Nawaz have also been shown the door. Nawaz, 17, made history last year when he became the youngest player to represent the Pakistan national team, earning his debut in a 5–0 loss to Syria.
