Wrexham are set to resume their Championship campaign this month as they aim to improve on their inconsistent start to the new season.
Phil Parkinson's men head into October sitting 14th in the Championship standings, having recorded two wins, four draws and two losses from their first eight games. The Red Dragons find themselves in a remarkably similar position to where they stood at this point last season, when they ultimately went on to finish seventh — the highest league finish in the club's history.
As a result, Wrexham remain well-placed to achieve their seasonal goal of securing a playoff berth, particularly with a revised format that expands the playoff field from four sides to six, meaning a top-eight finish will now be sufficient to qualify.
The Red Dragons are in a solid position considering the challenging opening run of fixtures and appear to have a more manageable schedule ahead as they look to push up the table throughout the month.
Here is a breakdown of Wrexham's fixtures for October.
Wrexham October Schedule 2026–27

Wrexham are scheduled to play a behind-closed-doors fixture one week before returning to competitive Championship action for their first official game of the month.
Parkinson's side kick off October with an away trip to Derby County, who currently occupy 22nd place in the table having managed just one win from their opening eight league outings.
The Red Dragons then host two consecutive home games in the same week, with fifth-placed West Bromwich Albion and 23rd-placed Preston North End both visiting North Wales. Wrexham are well aware that their performances at home will be key to climbing the Championship standings and keeping their Premier League promotion ambitions alive.
A week on, Wrexham hit the road once more as they travel to take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. The former Premier League champions sit two spots below the Red Dragons in the table, having accumulated nine points from their campaign so far.
Wrexham round off the month with an away fixture against familiar opponents Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. It will mark their first encounter since Wrexham completed the signing of Callum O'Hare from the Blades on the final day of the summer transfer window.
