Xabi Alonso Delivers Verdict on Trent Alexander-Arnold's Stunning Real Madrid Bow

Xabi Alonso has expressed satisfaction with Trent Alexander-Arnold's performance during the right-back's debut appearance for Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Alexander-Arnold, whose transfer from Liverpool was accelerated for the Club World Cup at a cost of €10 million (£8.6 million, $11.5 million), featured in Wednesday's opening match against Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal, though he didn't shine in what ended as a disappointing 1–1 stalemate.
Many observers voiced their dissatisfaction with what was clearly a difficult debut for the England defender, who couldn't complete any tackles while being tested by Salem Al Dawsari and Renan Lodi, yet Alonso maintained an optimistic perspective.
"Initially, I want to congratulate them, as this represents a significant milestone for them," Alonso commented regarding Alexander-Arnold and fellow newcomer Dean Huijsen. "Debuting for Real Madrid will certainly leave a lasting impression on them.
"I'm delighted because they possess that character and they'll become crucial players for our squad. Their presence will enhance our overall quality."

Alonso added: "It was a memorable day for both players. Dean delivered an excellent performance, and Trent showed continuous improvement throughout the match. They elevated our standard of play."
When asked to reflect on his maiden appearance, Alexander-Arnold recognized that the intense heat at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium presented difficulties he never encountered during his career in England.
"This is an incredibly proud moment for me," he stated. "It's something that most, if not every player, aspires to experience at some stage in their career.
"However, it was extremely demanding to perform in such heat and vastly different from conditions in England."
