Xavi Simons Brings His Magic to Tottenham: Star Midfielder Claims Iconic Jersey Number and Delivers Bold Promise to Fans

Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed the acquisition of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.
The talented Dutch midfielder's move to the Premier League wasn't unexpected, though it appeared for an extended period that he would join a west London club instead of heading to the northern part of the capital. Chelsea had been widely regarded as Simons's favored choice, but a last-minute offer valued at €60 million (£51.8 million, $70 million) from Tottenham helped facilitate a change of direction.
During his inaugural interview following his presentation as the club's new No. 7, inheriting the jersey left behind by departing club captain Son Heung-min, Simons revealed that a discussion with Spurs manager Thomas Frank solidified his choice to relocate to N17.
"I'm extremely delighted and eager to begin," Simons shared with the official Tottenham Hotspur website. "This has been a long-held aspiration of mine.
"It's an exceptional club and after meeting with the head coach, I immediately recognized this was the perfect destination for me. I will contribute creativity to the squad while also bringing dedication and commitment. I'm determined to do whatever it takes to achieve success, both for the team and the supporters."
Frank expressed even greater excitement than his new signing. "I'm truly delighted we've secured Xavi—he represents an excellent addition to our roster," the Danish manager enthused. "While he remains youthful, he possesses valuable experience and has accumulated significant playing time at elite levels in recent years.
"Xavi has demonstrated his capability to contribute goals and assists, operating effectively both as a No. 10 and on the left flank. He possesses exceptional vision for finding teammates and breaking down defensive structures, and I'm confident he will integrate seamlessly into our hardworking collective."
