Breaking: Man Utd Receives Fresh Antony Deal Proposal with Crucial New Element

Manchester United's sidelined winger Antony is reportedly being pursued again by Real Betis, with the Conference League runners-up eager to initiate discussions about another loan arrangement.

Betis suffered a decisive 4–1 defeat to Chelsea in Wrocław, Poland, but had previously achieved an impressive run of results, driven largely by Antony's exceptional performances following his January loan transfer.

The Spanish club has openly expressed their wish to retain Antony, though they've yet to secure an extension agreement with United. However, this situation might soon change.

According to the Daily Mail, Betis is looking to extend Antony's loan for another season, potentially including a purchase option valued at approximately £35 million ($47.4 million) for the 13-time Premier League champions United.

Antony, 25, faced significant challenges at United after his £86 million ($116.5 million) transfer from Ajax in 2022, which reunited him with his former Amsterdam manager, Erik ten Hag. Despite making 96 appearances for the club, he managed just 12 goals and five assists. In contrast, during his half-season loan at Real Betis, he netted nine goals and matched his assist total in only 26 matches.

Under mounting pressure to justify his substantial transfer fee, Antony was limited to eight substitute appearances in the Premier League last season before his loan departure—neither Ten Hag nor his successor at United, Ruben Amorim, considered him starting-caliber. At Betis, under Manuel Pellegrini's guidance, he started 15 La Liga fixtures.

Antony's revival at Betis coincided with the club's advancement to the Conference League final, and Pellegrini's team will participate in the Europa League next season.

"Thank you for opening the doors to me as if I were one of the family," Antony wrote emotionally on social media after his loan period concluded. "Thank you for giving me back the joy of playing. Thank you for reminding me why I fell in love with this game. My home. My people. Mucho Betis. Always."

Prospects appear dim for Antony should he remain in Manchester, as Amorim has already bolstered his attacking options by signing Antony's Brazilian teammate Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Red Devils are also actively pursuing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford—a player who would directly compete with Antony for his preferred right-wing position.
