"Wonderkid Shatters Transfer Dreams: 'This Is My Home,' Star Declares to Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool

Highly sought-after Ajax defender Jorrel Hato has once again expressed his commitment to his current club despite growing transfer interest from major teams.

The versatile 19-year-old, who excels both as a centre-back and left-back, has already surpassed 100 appearances for the Amsterdam club and made history as their youngest-ever captain when he led the team in a Europa League match in December 2023.

With consistent performances for both his club and national team, Hato has caught the attention of several elite clubs. Premier League powerhouses Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all reportedly eager to secure the Dutch international's signature.

However, Hato seems content at his present club, stating that he feels Ajax is where he belongs.

"The wisest approach is to evaluate season by season," he explained to club media when questioned about his plans for the 2025–26 season. "That's my method. Naturally, you have long-term ambitions: winning the Champions League, a World Cup and a European Championship.

"I have plenty of time ahead of me. I'm not thinking, 'I absolutely must win the Champions League within two years'.

"In the Dutch league, you need to demonstrate your abilities against the top clubs. My focus is on continuing to enhance the skills I already possess, to elevate them to the highest level.

"How would I characterize my experience at Ajax? Ajax is like home to me. I simply feel I belong here."

In 2024, Hato committed to Ajax by signing a new four-year contract, which means the Eredivisie powerhouse is under no obligation to consider offers from Europe's top clubs at this time.

Interested parties will likely need to offer well above £40 million ($54.3 million) to persuade Ajax to part with a player who was recognized as the best Under-21 talent in the Dutch top division last season.
