Breaking: Liverpool Smashes Transfer Record to Land German Sensation Florian Wirtz

Reports have confirmed that Liverpool have secured a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for the transfer of midfielder Florian Wirtz.
The two clubs have been in discussions for several weeks, with Liverpool previously unsuccessful in multiple attempts to persuade Leverkusen to reduce their €150 million (£127.7 million, $173.7 million) valuation.
Although there were differences in how each club valued the player, both parties remained optimistic that they would eventually reach a middle ground, and multiple sources have now verified that Liverpool and Leverkusen have come to an agreement.
As reported by The Athletic, Liverpool have committed to paying up to €136.3 million (£116.1 million, $157.8 million) to secure Wirtz's move to Anfield this summer.
The deal structure includes an initial payment of €117.5 million (£100.1 million, $136.1 million), with an additional €18.8 million (£16 million, $21.8 million) in bonuses tied to performance.

If all these performance bonuses are achieved, Wirtz would become the Premier League's most expensive signing ever, surpassing the £115 million ($156.4 million) Chelsea paid to Brighton & Hove Albion for Moisés Caicedo in 2023.
The transfer will definitely break Liverpool's existing record fee—the £85 million ($115.6 million) they spent to acquire Darwin Núñez.
Wirtz, who turned down interest from both Bayern Munich and Manchester City, is now scheduled for a medical examination before becoming Liverpool's third summer acquisition, following his Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong and Hungarian goalkeeper Ármin Pécsi.
Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson, who is facing uncertainty about his own future at Anfield with the anticipated arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, has already expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of playing alongside Wirtz.
