Arsenal Star Dazzles Rodrygo with "Phenomenon" Praise, Hints at Potential Transfer

Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães has openly admitted he would be delighted if his Brazilian national teammate Rodrygo were to join him at the Emirates Stadium during this transfer window.

Rodrygo concluded the previous season amid considerable uncertainty. Reports suggest he's feeling unsettled at Real Madrid, discontented with his position in a squad featuring stars like Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, and Jude Bellingham.

Speculation about a Premier League move surfaced rapidly, with Arsenal identified as a primary suitor should Rodrygo depart Madrid this summer.

No substantial discussions are believed to have taken place thus far, as Rodrygo is primarily seeking assurances about his role from newly appointed Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, but this hasn't prevented Gabriel from envisioning a potential reunion.

When questioned about the possibility of Rodrygo transferring to Arsenal this summer during an interview on Podpah, Gabriel responded: "I'm not certain. I'd certainly welcome it, though.

"He's exceptional. He's not with Arsenal yet, but hopefully. I've already mentioned to people, he's extraordinary. If the decision were mine, absolutely."

Shortly after assuming his position at Madrid, Alonso expressed significant optimism regarding Rodrygo, characterizing the Brazilian forward as a "spectacular" talent and attempting to diminish rumors about a costly exit from the Santiago Bernabéu.

Nevertheless, much will hinge on how effectively Alonso can convey that vision to Rodrygo, who has joined Madrid for this summer's Club World Cup and will be hoping the new manager fulfills his publicly expressed admiration.

Arsenal, meanwhile, continues to pursue a new wide attacking player and are known to be interested in Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.
