Vinicius Jr's Bold One-Word Welcome Stuns New Real Madrid Star Alexander-Arnold

Vinícius Júnior didn't waste any time in extending a public welcome to Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid.

After finalizing a six-year deal with Real Madrid, Alexander-Arnold was formally presented at Real Madrid City to commence his journey in the iconic white jersey. The Liverpool right-back veteran delivered his inaugural address in impressive Spanish before revealing his number 12 shirt.

The following day, Alexander-Arnold joined his new teammates for his first training session with the Spanish powerhouse. The 26-year-old reconnected with his England colleague Jude Bellingham, collaborated with fellow newcomer Dean Huijsen, and experienced training under a new coach in Xabi Alonso.

Notably absent from the proceedings was Vinícius Júnior. The talented winger was representing the Brazil national team in São Paulo until June 10 and is scheduled to join Real Madrid during their United States tour.

Despite not being able to greet Alexander-Arnold in person, the Brazilian star made sure to demonstrate his support for his new teammate via social media.

When Alexander-Arnold shared images from his Real Madrid introduction on Instagram with the caption, "Family is everything", Vinícius Júnior promptly responded in the comments: "Welcomeeee!!!"

The two players have engaged in numerous on-field confrontations over the years, most memorably in the 2022 Champions League final. In that match, Real Madrid claimed victory over Liverpool 1–0 courtesy of a 59th-minute goal from Vinícius Júnior.

Now, however, both Alexander-Arnold and Vinícius Júnior will be sporting the white kit together. These two football stars will have their initial opportunity to play as teammates at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

Real Madrid stands among the tournament favorites, alongside the newly crowned European and French champions Paris Saint-Germain. Los Blancos will be aiming for triumph in the United States, particularly after concluding their 2024–25 campaign without securing a major trophy.

Should the Spanish giants emerge victorious this summer, they will secure their first trophy under Alonso's leadership, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the world's most prestigious football club.
