Breaking: Madrid Superstar on Verge of Signing Contract Extension

Reports from Spain indicate that a contract extension between Real Madrid and Brahim Díaz "will soon be official."
Following his three-year loan spell at AC Milan, Brahim has established himself as a valuable squad member at Madrid, despite not being a consistent starter.
The Moroccan international has participated in 52 matches before the FIFA Club World Cup, with only Kylian Mbappé (56), Luka Modrić (57), and Federico Valverde (59) making more appearances.
When Brahim came back from Milan in 2023, he penned a four-year deal until 2027. Though this contract still has two years remaining, MARCA states that an agreement to extend for "several more years" has been reached with Los Blancos. Barring any unexpected complications, this will be finalized shortly.
Incoming coach Xabi Alonso reportedly has a particular "fondness" for Brahim. The new manager views him as possessing a unique profile not found elsewhere in Madrid's squad.

Throughout the 2024-25 season, Brahim has primarily been deployed on the right wing as an alternative to Rodrygo. However, his versatility allows him to operate on the left flank and centrally as a No.10. He even began the December 3-3 La Liga encounter with Rayo Vallecano playing as an improvised No.9.
Alonso is reportedly planning to implement a pressing style that will benefit players like Jude Bellingham and Valverde, but could 'challenge' Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, who are less focused on defensive work when not in possession.
Under Alonso's guidance, Real Madrid will no longer sit deep without the ball, instead adopting a more intense approach. Madrid have typically covered significantly less ground than their opponents, collectively running only 101.2 kilometers (62.8 miles), compared to 113.9 kilometers (70.8 miles) when they faced Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg last March.
