Premier League Club Throws Walker Lifeline Following Man City's Cold Shoulder

Reports suggest Everton are considering a move for Manchester City defender Kyle Walker.

Walker returned to City following a loan spell at AC Milan, as the Italian club opted not to make the transfer permanent. He has been omitted from the Club World Cup roster and is currently available for transfer.

While Fenerbahçe were previously linked with the player, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Everton have entered the race for the English full-back.

David Moyes, the Toffees' manager, is eager to secure Walker's services this summer, with negotiations already underway to compete against interest from Fenerbahçe, where earlier reports indicated Walker might be willing to join.

Nevertheless, according to the Daily Mail, Walker's priority is to continue his career in the Premier League, immediately positioning Everton as frontrunners.

A key factor in Walker's decision-making is his ambition to reach 100 international appearances for England—he currently has 96 caps—and to secure his place in the national squad for next year's World Cup.

With just one year remaining on his contract, City are unlikely to create significant barriers to his departure. Given his age of 35, his transfer value will be minimal, and City may prioritize removing his substantial wages rather than demanding a high transfer fee.

City have already strengthened their full-back options by signing Rayan Aït-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Newcastle United's Tino Livramento is reportedly their ideal target to directly replace Walker.

Newcastle are cognizant of City's interest in Livramento but have no desire to negotiate a transfer. With the 22-year-old under contract until 2028, the Magpies feel no urgency to address his future at this time.
