Arsenal Handed Blunt Warning as Kenan Yildiz Transfer Chase Heats Up

Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti confidently stated on Saturday that Arsenal—or any other club, for that matter—can put forward "whatever offer they like" for standout winger Kenan Yıldız. But it won't alter where the Turkish international will be plying his trade this season.

Yıldız has been connected with Arsenal as a potential solution to bolster the Premier League champions' options on the left wing. The Gunners have moved on from Leandro Trossard in favor of a younger alternative in new recruit Christos Tzolis, yet there remains room to find an upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli, and Mikel Arteta is nothing short of ruthless in his decision-making.

Arsenal had previously been monitoring Vinícius Júnior, with the possibility of a bold move for the Brazilian before he ultimately penned a new deal with Real Madrid. Reported interest in Bradley Barcola has also surfaced, though he appears more inclined toward Liverpool, while Morgan Rogers chose London rivals Chelsea just last month.

With ambitions of building a Premier League dynasty capable of conquering the Champions League as well, the Gunners are being selective, targeting only those who would genuinely strengthen their title-winning squad. Few players meet that criteria, and Yıldız may be one of them—but striking a deal with Juventus as the deadline looms will be anything but straightforward.

"I take it all in stride because the player in question is Yıldız. From where I stand, it's straightforward—they can come in with whatever offer they choose," Spalletti told reporters in Italy.

"My intention is to have Yıldız available to play this season."

Still only 21 years old, Yıldız has been the headline act on the Juventus squad for the last two campaigns. The Germany-born talent made the move to Turin from Bayern Munich—where he had spent a decade coming through the youth ranks—at the age of 17 in 2022, and cemented his place in the starting lineup two years on.

Spalletti was eager to emphasize that Yıldız is level-headed and shows no signs of wanting out.

"Yıldız is someone who is perfectly capable of having mature, grounded conversations. And as a result, he understands very well that there's no need to rush anything or force the pace. His future is already bright at Juventus," the coach explained.

"It's not about whether someone tables €100 million [$116.8 million, £85.6 million] or whether a club has the financial muscle to splash out right now. He is already at a club that values him at €100 million. So, we are all very relaxed about the situation."

Arsenal Running Out of Time to Offload Martinelli

Arsenal now have just nine days remaining in the summer transfer window to secure an upgrade on Martinelli, a move that will likely hinge on the Brazilian's own departure first.

The Gunners are believed to be willing to sanction a sale, but an approach from Galatasaray has failed to spark Martinelli's interest. He has been absent from both matchday squads so far this campaign, not even featuring on the bench for the Community Shield clash against Manchester City or the Premier League curtain-raiser against Coventry City. If Arteta is sending a signal, it couldn't be more obvious.

Club icon Ian Wright spoke out on Friday during an appearance as a pundit on Sky Sports, admitting he feels "uncomfortable" with the way Martinelli appears to be being handled. "There are better ways to go about this. It should work for him too, in terms of how he gets to move on."
