Arsenal return to midweek action following their comfortable win over Everton on Saturday. Their Carabao Cup journey continues on Tuesday against struggling League Two side Fleetwood Town.
The Premier League giants knocked out Ipswich Town in the third round last month and are looking to build on their solid record in the competition under Mikel Arteta. Arsenal are yet to lift the trophy, but have reached the semifinals twice and finished as runners-up last season.
They've certainly been favored by the draw, with Arteta able to give key squad players a rest ahead of Sunday's clash at Anfield. Arsenal's squad is well-stocked, and the fringe members will undoubtedly feature at Highbury Stadium.
Here's how the Gunners could line up for their Carabao Cup fourth round fixture.
Arsenal Predicted Lineup vs. Fleetwood (4-2-3-1)
GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga—The Spanish shot-stopper hasn't been displaced by summer signing Illan Meslier in the pecking order, so he'll continue to get his chances in the domestic cup competitions.
RB: Jurriën Timber—Timber has looked sharp since returning from his injury layoff, though he's unlikely to complete the full 90 minutes on Tuesday. He could still be rotated into the starting XI after Ben White was preferred at the weekend.
CB: Marli Salmon—Academy product Salmon started at Portman Road in the third round, and Arteta won't think twice about naming him from the off again on Tuesday.
CB: Cristhian Mosquera—Ezri Konsa's rapid influence has seen Mosquera's playing time shrink since his return from injury. The Spanish centre-back should earn just his third start of the campaign here and his first since Aug. 31.
LB: Piero Hincapié—Hincapié was back in the squad against Everton but didn't see any action. He should be fit to start against lower-league opposition, keeping Riccardo Calafiori fresh for the trip to Liverpool.
CM: Martín Zubimendi—The midfielder had a tough afternoon at the weekend, suffering a painful blow to the nose late in the game. Nevertheless, he'll make the trip north and prepare himself for a rare starting appearance.
