Marcus Rashford's stint at Barcelona has officially come to a close. The English international confirmed his departure from Catalonia with an emotional social media post, which the club has since acknowledged.
There had long been mutual interest in extending Rashford's loan beyond the 2025–26 season, but the arrivals of wingers Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi effectively shut the door on any possibility of Rashford settling permanently in Catalonia.
"I'm deeply thankful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a wonderful and unforgettable experience," Rashford wrote in a farewell message on Instagram. "I've cherished every moment and will carry many incredible memories with me.
"I wish the club and all its fans the very best and every success in the upcoming season. Visca el Barça."
Several Barcelona players, including Gavi, Fermín López, Raphinha, Pau Cubarsí, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres, commented on the post to bid farewell and wish Rashford well. Barcelona's official account also left a warm message for the departing forward.
"Thanks for everything, Rashy," Barça wrote. "You will always be one of us." The 28-year-old replied, "I will be back one day to support the boys."

Life without Rashford has already begun for Barcelona, who are currently in the United Kingdom for preseason preparations while still missing several players recovering from World Cup commitments. Flick's squad were eliminated on penalties following a 2–2 draw against Birmingham City in the opening match of their British tour.
After the game, Flick addressed several topics, including a candid statement regarding Rashford's confirmed exit.
"What I can say about Marcus is that I truly valued working with him," Flick said. "Sometimes you don't know what will happen with loan players. I think our situation isn't easy in that regard, but I genuinely appreciated having him here.
"He's a tremendous player and a wonderful person. I think the team will miss him, I will miss him, but that's football and we have to accept it."
Rashford's season-long spell at Barça concluded with the forward contributing 14 goals and 14 assists across 49 appearances, helping the club claim the Spanish Super Cup and La Liga titles. He now appears set to begin a new chapter at Manchester United upon returning to his boyhood club. Barcelona, meanwhile, continue to bring in players who could potentially fill the gap left by his departure.
Barcelona Confirm Signing of Belgium Wonderkid
Barcelona announced an agreement with Club Brugge to sign 18-year-old Belgian winger Jesse Bisiwu on a deal running until 2031, making him the club's third confirmed summer signing alongside Adeyemi and Gordon—all natural wide attackers.
Bisiwu is a regular fixture in Belgium's youth setups and was named in the best XI of the 2025 U–17 World Cup last fall. Although he never made a senior appearance for Brugge, he was part of the club's impressive U–19 squad that lost to Real Madrid in last season's UEFA Youth League final.
The Catalans paid $9.7 million (€8.5 million) for the teenager, with Brugge retaining a 20% sell-on clause, according to ESPN. Bisiwu is a first-team signing and will join the preseason squad to begin working under Flick; however, it would come as no surprise if the majority of his 2026–27 minutes come with Barça Atlètic (Barcelona's B team), given the suddenly crowded winger options.
