The Philadelphia Union will have Cavan Sullivan available for Saturday's match, even after the 16-year-old sensation received a red card during Wednesday's 2–2 stalemate against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami.
Sullivan, who has been in outstanding form for the Union with a goal and three assists across his last four appearances, became involved in a confrontation with Miami's Yannick Bright during a late brawl as tempers flared between the two most recent Supporters' Shield title holders.
The USMNT and Manchester City prospect entered the melee after his older brother Quinn Sullivan became entangled with Miami's Ian Fray and Gonzalo Luján. Cavan Sullivan took a punch to the face from Bright, and both players were handed automatic red cards.
However, MLS confirmed on Friday that Sullivan's red card had been overturned following a review, clearing him to feature in Saturday's fixture against Austin FC. The Union aim to extend their unbeaten run to six matches and return to winning form following the draw with Miami.
Following the red card, Sullivan had briefly become the youngest player ever to be dismissed in MLS history, and has now also become the youngest player to have a red card overturned. Bright, however, will be suspended for Miami's upcoming match against Toronto FC, while teammates Fray and Messi were both handed fines by MLS for their conduct in the closing stages of Wednesday's game.
Union Pushing for Playoffs

Despite being the reigning Supporters' Shield champions, the Union are battling hard to secure a spot in the 2026 MLS Cup playoffs. They started the season with 2025 MLS Coach of the Year Bradley Carnell in charge, but managed just one victory in their opening 15 matches. The club ultimately parted ways with Carnell in May, paving the way for Ryan Richter to take over as interim manager.
Under Richter's guidance, the Union have gradually grown in confidence, with the interim boss handing more playing time to younger talents. His approach has helped ignite a breakout season for Sullivan, while also drawing attention to 18-year-old 6'7" center back Neil Pierre, who has made an impression at both ends of the pitch.
With five games unbeaten and four victories during that stretch, the Union head into Saturday sitting on 20 points with 14 games still to play — just four points behind the ninth and final MLS Cup playoff position, currently occupied by D.C. United with 24 points.
