Barcelona came through a seven-goal spectacle to defeat Real Betis 5–2, maintaining their unbeaten run and becoming only the second side in history to win their first nine matches of a La Liga campaign, equaling a feat Real Madrid accomplished 58 years ago.
This was Hansi Flick's Barcelona firing on all cylinders: goals raining in at both ends, breathtaking individual moments, disallowed efforts and barely a second to breathe. Lamine Yamal delivered the defining moment just 10 minutes in, leaving Facundo Bernal dizzy with exquisite footwork before bending a spectacular effort from outside the area into the top corner.
Betis refused to roll over, however, with Valentín Gómez first drawing the sides level, before former Barcelona man Ez Abde pulled it back to 3–2 after the visitors had surged into a 3–1 advantage, thanks to strikes from Rodri—his maiden goal for the club—and Gabriel Jesus.
Betis' hopes of a revival were dealt a severe blow shortly after the interval when Bernal received a straight red card, reducing the hosts to 10 men. Barcelona capitalised on their extra man, with substitutes Eric García and Dani Olmo both getting on the scoresheet to put the game to bed and secure a convincing win.
Defensive vulnerabilities persist, yet Barcelona's relentless attacking play keeps delivering the goods. Nine matches, nine victories and a remarkable 39 goals scored. Can anyone prevent them from charging toward a third straight La Liga crown? Based on current form, it already looks like a monumental challenge.
Heroes & Villains

Heroes
Yamal will steal the spotlight for his breathtaking strike, but Rodri was the true heartbeat of Barcelona's performance. The midfielder netted his first goal for the club and orchestrated play from beginning to end, touching the ball more than anyone else while effortlessly controlling the tempo and slicing through Betis with his incisive forward passing.
Raphinha's substitute appearance was also greeted with a rapturous reception from the Barcelona supporters. Though he failed to find the net, the in-form Brazilian's comeback couldn't be better timed, with El Clásico against Real Madrid on the horizon next week.
Villains
Karim Adeyemi had a prime opportunity to press his case for a regular starting berth but did very little to take it. The German winger showed tireless energy and was always prepared to take on defenders, yet his final delivery consistently let him down. Errant crosses, squandered dribbles and poor decision-making defined an evening of hard work without reward.
Barcelona Player Ratings vs. Real Betis (4-2-3-1)

*Ratings Provided by FotMob*
GK: Joan García—7.2: Will be disappointed by the manner of the goals conceded, but more than compensated with an outstanding sweeper-keeper performance. His astute positional awareness and readiness to charge off his line repeatedly rescued Barcelona's high defensive line.
RB: Jules Koundé—7.5: Caught napping at the back for Abde's goal, but otherwise impressive, especially when contributing to the build-up. The Frenchman delivered numerous progressive passes to help Barcelona advance the ball.
CB: Pau Cubarsí—8.7: Appeared sluggish in the opening half, losing several challenges and struggling to impose himself defensively. Nevertheless, he improved markedly after the break, finishing with the most defensive contributions on the pitch and chipping in with two assists for good measure.
CB: Gerard Martín—6.5: Replaced by Eric García at the interval following a difficult first-half display in which he lost every aerial challenge.
LB: Xavi Espart—7.1: Lost a total of seven duels and gave the ball away on multiple occasions. Not his best afternoon.
CM: Rodri—8.5: Netting his first Barcelona goal, touching the ball more than any other player and completing 98% of his passes—Rodri was the standout performer by a considerable distance.
CM: Pedri—7.6: Subdued by his own lofty standards, but rarely put a foot wrong either.
RW: Lamine Yamal—8.9: His stunning opener alone justified the rating, but the teenager had far more to contribute. He set up Jesus for his goal and consistently tormented the Betis backline throughout.
AM: Fermín López—7.6: Not quite at his sparkling best, but still made a meaningful impact, providing the assist for Rodri's goal.
LW: Karim Adeyemi—7.0: Plenty of effort, no end product. Adeyemi ran tirelessly but repeatedly came up short when it counted most.
ST: Gabriel Jesus—7.8: A peripheral figure in the first half but came alive after the break. He initially had a goal chalked off before making no mistake with his next opportunity.
