Manchester United kick off their Premier League campaign with an away fixture against newly-promoted Hull City in Saturday's early kick-off slot.
Following a remarkable turnaround under Michael Carrick in the latter half of last season, the Red Devils head into the new campaign full of belief. A winning start is very much expected, though complacency at the MKM Stadium would be a dangerous luxury they cannot afford.
Carrick has the chance to blood two new midfield signings, with Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos both in contention for starting berths. He also faces selection dilemmas at center back and in attack for what could be a tricky opening fixture.
Here's how United could set up.
Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs. Hull

GK: Senne Lammens—A standout debut campaign in Manchester put an end to a long-standing problem position for United. Lammens is now the clear first choice, and his arrival has enabled the club to move on from both André Onana and Altay Bayındır—at least for the 2026–27 season.
RB: Diogo Dalot—Dalot embarks on his ninth season as a United player and will share right back duties with Noussair Mazraoui throughout the campaign.
CB: Harry Maguire—A trusted figure under Carrick, Maguire looks set to retain his starting spot with Matthijs de Ligt still sidelined through injury and Leny Yoro yet to establish himself. The commanding Englishman got on the scoresheet in United's final preseason friendly against Milan.
CB: Ayden Heaven—World Cup finalist Lisandro Martínez returned to Manchester late and is expected to be named among the substitutes against Hull as he regains full fitness. Heaven is therefore likely to be handed the starting role.
LB: Luke Shaw—United are stretched at left back following Tyrell Malacia's departure and Patrick Dorgu's positional shift. Shaw remains the only genuine option in that role at present.
CM: Youri Tielemans—Arguably the standout acquisition of the summer window, Tielemans has already caught the eye during preseason with a series of polished performances. He offers the ideal link between the defensive and attacking phases of play.
CM: Andrey Santos—While Tielemans orchestrates from deep and threads passes through the lines, fellow new arrival Santos will be deployed as a more combative presence. The Brazilian started every preseason game and has hit the ground running in a United shirt.
RW: Amad Diallo—This could be a defining season for Amad, who should benefit from greater game time given United's more demanding fixture list. Having contributed just five goal involvements last term, the 24-year-old must step up his output.

AM: Bruno Fernandes—The assist maestro and 2025–26 Premier League Player of the Season continues to be the engine room of United's play. Fernandes raises the level of those around him and is likely to be the decisive figure both here and across the season.
LW: Matheus Cunha—Cunha's place in the XI is far from guaranteed, yet his versatility to cut inside as a No. 10 or drive through the center gives United's attack an unpredictable edge. A below-par showing could open the door for Dorgu, who has thrived when deployed in a more advanced position.
ST: Bryan Mbeumo—Benjamin Šeško has rejoined group training, but having missed all of preseason through injury, he is unlikely to feature from the start. Mbeumo, as was frequently the case under Carrick last season, will lead the line in the No. 9 role.
