Mbappe Hits 100 Real Madrid Goals: How His Stunning Rise Stacks Up Against Ronaldo's Legacy

With voting long since concluded, Kylian Mbappé could not have timed a more emphatic statement performance on the eve of the Ballon d'Or ceremony, with the entire football world watching.

The French star's match-winning brace against Barcelona on Sunday reinforced his claim as the planet's finest striker, following a 2026–27 campaign in which he has netted 14 times across 13 outings.

At Camp Nou, Mbappé stole the spotlight as Madrid snapped Barça's nine-game La Liga winning run, opening his account in fortunate fashion when Gerard Martín's attempted clearance ricocheted off him and beyond Joan García.

His second, arriving late in the match, was far more visually impressive as Madrid's No. 10 finished off a brilliant team counter-attack with a composed finish, set up by slick play from Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham.

Mbappé's double brought his Real Madrid tally to exactly 100 goals—a milestone he marked by departing Camp Nou with a shirt bearing that number. It is a stunning achievement accomplished in just over two years at the club.

"I'm very happy," Mbappé said of the milestone. "Everyone knows how much I love scoring goals and contributing that way. But I think today it's just a small detail, because the most important thing is the team's win and what we achieve together."

Having reached the landmark in just 116 appearances across all competitions, Mbappé becomes the second-quickest player in the modern era to reach a century for Los Blancos, trailing only (as expected) Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mbappe vs. Ronaldo After 100 Goals

Ronaldo, almost incredibly, needed just 105 games to accumulate 100 goals for Real Madrid, achieving the feat with a brace in a Champions League group-stage victory over Lyon in 2011.

The Portuguese icon reached his century faster than Mbappé and was also marginally younger when he did so, hitting triple figures for Madrid at just 26 years of age.

When it comes to overall goal contributions, Ronaldo holds the edge once more—tallying 31 assists over the same period, compared to Mbappé's 15.

Notably, neither player enjoyed significant team success during their early years at Madrid. Mbappé has, famously, yet to claim a major trophy since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024, while Ronaldo managed only the Copa del Rey in his first two seasons at the club.

Ronaldo, of course, went on to amass silverware at the Bernabéu, departing in 2018 as a four-time Champions League winner and two-time La Liga champion.

Mbappé and Ronaldo vs. Barcelona

Cristiano Ronaldo

Mbappé's Sunday brace brought his overall record against Barcelona to 14 goals in 11 matches. Among all opponents he has faced, only Montpellier have conceded more from him.

Furthermore, his eight goals for Real Madrid against Barcelona represent the highest tally by any player in their first seven Clásico appearances in the 21st century.

Barcelona also feature prominently among the clubs against which Ronaldo has scored most frequently. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has 20 goals in 34 appearances against the Catalan club, with only Atlético Madrid (25) having conceded more from him throughout his career.
