Michael Olise appears to have brought a close to what was shaping up to be the summer's most talked-about transfer saga, signaling his intentions to Bayern Munich despite reported interest from Real Madrid.
Real Madrid publicly denied any direct or indirect contact with Olise or those close to him last month, following speculation that the French winger was the player Florentino Pérez had pledged to break the club's transfer record for if he won the presidential election — which he ultimately did.
However, what Los Blancos desire may ultimately be beside the point. According to Sky Sport Germany, Olise has "communicated" to Bayern Munich his desire to "remain loyal" to the Bundesliga title holders. This isn't merely a denial of reports this week suggesting he is keen on a move to Real Madrid — it goes considerably further, actively reassuring his club of the contrary.
Bayern regard Olise as "unsellable," and this verbal pledge could even lead to a new contract with an improved salary that would place him among the club's three highest earners. Senior figures within the club are said to be "completely relaxed."

Olise is in an enviable position at Bayern Munich, having wrapped up last season with a combined 53 goals and assists across all competitions. The club is widely expected to claim the German title once again in 2026–27 and enters the new campaign as one of the frontrunners for Champions League glory.
By sharp contrast, Real Madrid's 2025–26 campaign ended in turmoil — finishing a distant second in La Liga, falling well short in the Champions League, and plagued by internal conflict.
There are considerable uncertainties heading into the new season as José Mourinho embarks on a fresh chapter, immediately tasked with bringing together a fractured squad.
Olise stands to gain considerably by remaining at Bayern this summer, and risks a great deal by moving to a club that must work hard to reestablish its credibility.
